The Shalrie Joseph Soccer Academy is a coed program that is directed and led by Six-Time MLS All-Star and New England Revolution stand-out Shalrie Joseph. Shalrie's Academy is designed from drills Shalrie practiced as a youth, and still practices on a daily basis. The program focuses on mastering the fundamental techniques of soccer- passing/receiving, dribbling, 1v1 defending, and shooting. Shalrie’s unique ability to interact with players and his handpicked coaches fosters a fun learning experience. The program is designed for players of all abilities, benefiting novice players to elite level players

Goalkeepers are welcome to come to the Academy- however there will not be a separate goalkeeper program. We believe that having basic soccer skills is essential even for goalkeepers. When matches are played goalkeepers may be used in the nets depending on the circumstances
Shalrie is the director of the Academy. The training program is personally designed by Shalrie with the goal to maximize skill training and fundamentals while having fun. Shalrie will attempt to be at as many sessions as possible. After his professional obligations, the Shalrie Joseph Soccer Academy is his #1 commitment. Shalrie’s MLS schedule (and non-MLS schedule (Superliga and US Open Cup)) will not be released until February/March. In 2009, Shalrie made 28 out of the 30 sessions, and should make over 70% of 2010’s sessions. Shalrie will miss full day camp morning sessions because of MLS practice, but will be available for the afternoon portions.
The Staff to player ratio at all programs will be no greater than 10:1. In addition to Shalrie, the other coaches all possess a comprehensive knowledge of the game. All coaches are current/former collegiate and/or professional players. Please email for a more comprehensive description of the coaches for certain programs. All staff under-go extensive background checks, and CORI/SORI checks. On-site at each camp will be a coach certified in CPR and First Aid.

In the case of rain, the camp will continue at the discretion of Shalrie and/or the head coach. If there is heavy rain, and/or inclement weather (hail, thunder/lightning, extreme heat, high winds) the camp will be stopped and all players/coaches will seek cover. Some sites have onsite indoor facilities; other sites will have indoor facilities in the surrounding area. If indoor space is available, it will be utilized. If there is no indoor facility, we will make every possible effort to make up lost time (either by starting earlier or ending later on a subsequent day, adding additional days, or allowing missed days to be made up at a program later in the summer).
All players are required to provide immunization/medical records to be allowed to participate. These records must be submitted no later than June 1st, 2010. The required immunization/medical records can be found under "SJSA Medical Forms" on the left-side bar of sjsa21.com.
